First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether tart cherry concentrate can reduce the risk of a common irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) after heart surgery. About 50 adults aged 50-79 having mitral valve repair will take the concentrate and be monitored for side effects, hospital stay length, and heart rhythm. Researchers will also check heart tissue for changes in inflammation-related genes.
