First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests whether toothbrushes with tapered bristles are better at removing plaque and reducing gum bleeding than standard round-end bristles, without causing scratches. About 70 adults with gum disease will use one of two toothbrush types at home for 4 weeks. Researchers will check plaque, gum pocket depth, bleeding, and any gum damage.
