NCT ID NCT07274228

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study reviewed health records of 14,000 older adults (66+) with advanced chronic kidney disease who started taking tamsulosin, a drug for prostate problems. Researchers compared those on a higher dose (0.8 mg/day) to those on a lower dose (0.4 mg/day) to see if the higher dose increased the risk of hospitalization, emergency visits, or death within 90 days. The goal was to gather safety information to guide better prescribing for this vulnerable group.
