Doctors' survey reveals patchy tools for spotting a common TB complication
NCT ID NCT06390969
Summary
This study surveyed 418 respiratory doctors across Asia-Pacific regions to understand real-world practices for diagnosing tuberculous pleuritis, a common complication of tuberculosis that causes fluid buildup around the lungs. The goal was to map out which tests are available and how doctors interpret them, as current methods can be unreliable and vary widely between regions. The findings aim to highlight gaps in resources and knowledge to guide future research and improve diagnosis.
