Could your surgery anesthesia be setting you up for chronic pain?

NCT ID NCT06374849

Summary

This study aims to find out if the amount of a specific anesthesia drug (sufentanil) given during common abdominal surgeries is linked to patients developing long-term pain months later. It will follow 855 adults having scheduled, non-major abdominal surgery. The goal is to see if adjusting this drug dose could help control and reduce the risk of chronic pain after surgery.
