Back pain vs. better sight: new trial tests best position after corneal transplant

NCT ID NCT07373821

First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study compares lying on your back for 1 day versus 5 days after a specific type of corneal transplant (DMEK) for Fuchs dystrophy. Researchers want to see if a longer period of lying flat helps the transplant stay attached and reduces the need for extra procedures. About 102 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups and will wear a movement sensor to track head position.
