Back to basics: can extra time on your back save your corneal transplant?

NCT ID NCT07373821

First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at whether lying on your back for 5 days after a special corneal transplant (DMEK) helps the new tissue stay in place better than just 1 day. About 100 people with Fuchs corneal dystrophy will be randomly assigned to either 1 or 5 days of back-lying. Researchers will measure graft detachment, need for extra procedures, and side effects like back pain.
