New strategy aims to support addiction counselors and improve patient care

Summary

This study is testing a new training and support strategy for supervisors who oversee counselors in residential addiction treatment programs. The goal is to see if better supervision can reduce counselor burnout and turnover, and ultimately improve the quality of care for people with substance use disorders. The study will involve about 43 supervisors and counselors to see if the new strategy is practical and acceptable.
