Summary

This study tested whether babies with a rare, permanent form of diabetes caused by specific gene changes could safely switch from daily insulin injections to an oral diabetes pill called glibenclamide. Nineteen infants and children took part. Researchers monitored their blood sugar and checked if the pill improved their development and thinking skills.
