Social connection may be key to preventing suicide, new study suggests

NCT ID NCT05227183

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looks at how a program called VigilanS, which provides regular phone check-ins, helps prevent suicide. Researchers think the program works by restoring social bonds in people who are vulnerable to feeling socially rejected. They will measure stress responses in 120 adults who have had a suicide attempt to understand why the program is effective.
