Can a phone call save a life? study probes link between social connection and suicide prevention
NCT ID NCT05227183
Summary
This study aims to understand why a phone support program called VigilanS helps prevent suicide attempts. Researchers will compare 120 people who have recently attempted suicide, some of whom had another attempt while in the program and some who did not. They will measure participants' physical and emotional stress responses to social situations to see if the program works by reducing feelings of isolation and social stress.
