First seen Dec 15, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tested if a sugar-free flavored sweet solution applied before a dental shot can reduce pain in children aged 6-12. Fifty-four kids received either the sweet solution or plain water before local anesthesia. Researchers measured pain using child reports, observer ratings, and heart rate changes. The goal is to find a simple, safe way to make dental injections less painful for young patients.
