First seen Dec 15, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested if a sugar-free flavored sweet solution applied before a dental injection can reduce pain in children aged 6-12. Fifty-four kids received either the sweet solution or plain water before local anesthesia. Researchers measured pain using child reports, observer ratings, and heart rate changes to see if the sweet taste helps.
