This study looked at how a drug called LCZ696 (used for heart failure) affects the kidneys and heart in 72 people with type 2 diabetes, some with early signs of heart stiffness and some without. The goal was to understand if this drug can prevent the progression to symptomatic heart failure. Participants received a saline infusion, and researchers measured changes in blood and urine markers.
