Heart scans may reveal hidden stroke risk

NCT ID NCT04649034

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looked at 258 adults with different types of heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy) to see if special heart imaging could predict stroke or silent brain damage. Researchers used ultrasound and MRI to measure blood flow inside the heart. The goal was to find links between blood stasis and hidden clots or brain infarcts, without offering a direct treatment.
