Brain scans reveal how stroke survivors recover movement

NCT ID NCT02664636

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study used a special light-based brain scanner (fNIRS) to watch how the brain rewires itself in the first two months after a stroke. Ten stroke survivors were followed from day 0 to day 60 to see how their brain activity changed as they regained movement. The goal was to create models of brain recovery, not to test a treatment.
