Brain scans reveal how stroke survivors recover movement

NCT ID NCT02664636

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at how the brain reorganizes itself in the first two months after a stroke. Ten participants had their brain activity measured using a non-invasive light-based technique called fNIRS while performing motor tasks. The goal was to create models linking brain changes to recovery of movement, not to test any treatment.
