Scientists hunt for hidden stroke danger in the brain

NCT ID NCT03291652

Summary

This study aims to better understand the physical features of dangerous plaques in the brain's arteries that can break off and cause strokes. Researchers will compare brain scans from 140 people who have had a stroke with scans from people who have similar plaques but no symptoms. The goal is to learn how to spot the most risky plaques earlier to help prevent future strokes.
