New MRI study aims to uncover hidden clots in stroke patients
NCT ID NCT05847699
First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at why some stroke patients don't recover well even after treatment to reopen large brain arteries. Researchers think tiny blood clots in smaller vessels may be the cause. They will use special MRI scans and tissue samples from 15 patients who need surgery to relieve brain swelling, to see if these small clots are present and how they affect recovery.
