Blood test could speed stroke care, save critical minutes
NCT ID NCT04726839
Summary
This study tested whether a simple blood test could quickly identify stroke patients who need specialized clot-removal treatment. Researchers enrolled 3,880 adults with recent stroke symptoms to see if specific blood markers could detect certain types of strokes before brain imaging. The goal is to help paramedics and emergency departments send patients directly to the right hospitals faster, avoiding unnecessary stops that delay critical care.
