Trial tests if balloon catheter improves stroke recovery
NCT ID NCT07478042
Summary
This study tested if using a special balloon-tipped catheter is better than a standard one for emergency clot removal in stroke patients. It involved 110 adults who had a major stroke caused by a blocked artery in the front of the brain. Researchers randomly assigned patients to receive treatment with one of the two catheter types to see which led to better blood flow restoration and recovery after 90 days.
