NCT ID NCT07226219

First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study tests whether children with sickle cell disease (SCD) who have trouble paying attention or thinking clearly can safely take a daily stimulant called methylphenidate for 4 weeks. The goal is to see if the medicine is easy to take, works well, and has few side effects. About 72 children aged 8 to 17 will participate, and researchers will also ask parents about their decision to use the drug.
