Summary

This study tests whether children with sickle cell disease can safely take a daily stimulant medication (methylphenidate) for four weeks to help with attention, thinking, and schoolwork. Researchers will track side effects, how well families stick with the treatment, and any improvements in behavior. The study involves 72 children ages 8 to 17 who have attention or thinking problems.
