Can a short steroid course boost brain healing after serious injury?
NCT ID NCT07180277
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a 5-day course of the steroid methylprednisolone to standard hospital care can help adults recover better from a moderate to severe traumatic brain injury. Researchers will compare the steroid against a placebo in 520 patients to see if it improves long-term neurological function and reduces disability at 6 months. The main goal is to determine if this short-term treatment safely leads to better recovery outcomes.
