Brain injury breakthrough? steroid trial aims to boost recovery
NCT ID NCT07180277
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a 5-day course of the steroid methylprednisolone to standard care improves long-term recovery for adults with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). Researchers will compare the steroid against a placebo in 520 patients to see if it leads to better neurological outcomes and lower mortality after six months. The trial will also closely monitor patients for any safety issues or side effects from the treatment.
