Simple cream may stop painful infections in infant boys

NCT ID NCT07508124

First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This small study tests whether a steroid cream applied to the penis can prevent repeat urinary tract infections (UTIs) in uncircumcised baby boys under 6 months old who have already had one UTI. Half the babies get the steroid cream, half get a placebo cream, applied twice a week for four weeks. The main goal is to see if a larger study is possible, not to prove the cream works yet.
