Steroid cream may prevent UTIs in uncircumcised infant boys

NCT ID NCT07508124

First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This small pilot study tests whether a steroid cream applied to the penis can prevent repeat urinary tract infections (UTIs) in uncircumcised male infants under 6 months old who have already had one UTI. Half the babies get the steroid cream, half get a placebo cream, applied twice a week for four weeks. The main goal is to see if a larger study is possible, not to prove the cream works yet.
