Heart stents Re-Clogging years later: researchers hunt for clues
NCT ID NCT07473596
Summary
This study aimed to understand how often and why stents re-narrow (restenosis) years after a procedure to open a completely blocked heart artery. Researchers followed 294 patients who had received a stent for a chronic total occlusion. They used heart imaging scans taken at least three years after the procedure to look for narrowing and identify which patient or procedure factors might increase the risk.
