Heart stents under the microscope: study tracks why they narrow years later
NCT ID NCT07473596
Summary
This study aimed to understand why and how often heart stents narrow again years after a procedure to open a completely blocked artery. Researchers followed 294 patients who had received a stent for a chronic total blockage, using imaging scans to check the stents at least three years later. The goal was to identify which patient characteristics or procedural factors increase the risk of this long-term narrowing.
