Fat cells fight MS: experimental stem cell therapy aims to halt nerve damage

NCT ID NCT03461419

Summary

This study is testing whether stem cells taken from a patient's own body fat can help control advanced multiple sclerosis (MS). Researchers will inject these processed cells into the bloodstream to see if they can reduce brain inflammation and nerve damage. The trial will track 100 adults with MS that hasn't responded well to standard medications, monitoring their symptoms and brain scans over several years to check safety and effectiveness.
