Radical transplant trial aims to halt devastating new disease

NCT ID NCT05027945

Summary

This study is testing whether a stem cell transplant from a donor can successfully treat VEXAS syndrome, a rare and serious condition that causes severe inflammation and blood problems. Adults with severe VEXAS who haven't responded to standard treatments will receive donor stem cells after chemotherapy. The main goals are to see if the transplant takes hold and if it reverses the disease's symptoms, allowing patients to stop high-dose steroids.
