One-Shot stem cell therapy aims to ease arthritic knee pain

NCT ID NCT05526001

Summary

This study is testing if a single injection of stem cells, taken from a person's own fat tissue, can safely reduce pain and improve function in a knee damaged by osteoarthritis. About 165 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the stem cell injection or a placebo saline shot. Researchers will track changes in knee pain, stiffness, and use of pain medications over nearly a year to see which treatment works better.
