Heart pills and sex drive: new study investigates surprising link
NCT ID NCT07460960
Summary
This study aims to see if common cholesterol-lowering drugs (statins) affect men's testosterone levels and erectile function. It will involve 150 men aged 40-65 who are at high risk for heart disease but are not currently taking statins. Participants will take one of two different statins for six months while researchers measure hormone levels, blood vessel health, and erectile function to see if the medication helps or harms sexual health.
