Summary
This early-stage study tested whether the antidepressant fluoxetine (Prozac) can improve the body's nervous system response during exercise in people with type 1 diabetes. The goal is to reduce the risk of dangerously low blood sugar that often follows physical activity. The study included 64 adults (32 with type 1 diabetes and 32 healthy controls) and measured stress hormone levels after 8 weeks of treatment.
