Tooth socket healing without grafting: new study tests simpler dental implant approach
NCT ID NCT07460648
First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at 24 healthy adults who needed a dental implant after a tooth was removed. Instead of using bone graft material, researchers tested whether the socket could heal naturally after a modified socket shield procedure. The goal was to see if natural healing works as well as grafting before placing a permanent implant. Results focused on how much soft tissue grew into the socket.
