Blue-green algae protein put to the test: can it rev up immune cells?
NCT ID NCT07733362
First seen Jul 29, 2026 · Last updated Jul 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether spirulina blue protein capsules can safely influence the immune system in healthy adults aged 25 to 60. Participants take either a placebo or one of two doses (200 mg or 1,000 mg daily) for 12 weeks. Researchers measure changes in key immune cells and blood markers to see if the supplement has any measurable effect.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- spirulina blue protein capsules
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a natural supplement that supports immune health in healthy people.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial in healthy volunteers, so results may not apply to people with weakened immune systems. The supplement may have no effect at all.
