First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether spironolactone, a drug already used for fluid retention, can improve exercise ability and blood vessel health in people with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). About 70 adults with PAH will take either spironolactone or a placebo for 24 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in walking distance, heart and lung function, and signs of inflammation.
