New lung valve study offers hope for emphysema patients

Summary
This study is testing the long-term safety and effectiveness of the Spiration Valve System for people with severe emphysema, a lung condition that makes breathing difficult. About 150 adults with low collateral ventilation (meaning the valves can work properly) will receive the valve implants. The goal is to see if the valves help reduce shortness of breath and improve survival over 3 years, while tracking any serious side effects like collapsed lung.
