Zapping the spine: new hope for kids with spina bifida?

NCT ID NCT06918119

Summary

This study aims to understand how a non-invasive electrical stimulation device placed on the skin over the spine affects leg muscle weakness, stiffness, and coordination in children and young adults with spina bifida. Researchers will test the device on 30 participants to map how the spinal cord connects to leg muscles and see if it can strengthen weakened muscles. The goal is to gather detailed information to potentially develop future therapies, but this study itself is primarily for measurement and understanding.
