Smartwatches help unlock mysteries of spinal cord injury complications

NCT ID NCT04493372

Summary

This study aims to better understand how spinal cord injury affects the body's automatic functions like blood pressure control, temperature regulation, and bladder health. Researchers will perform lab tests and have participants wear smartwatches to track heart rate and skin responses in 69 people with spinal cord injuries and healthy volunteers. The goal is to identify patterns that could help doctors better manage common complications like blood pressure drops and autonomic dysreflexia.
