Finding the best spinal dose for faster C-Section recovery
NCT ID NCT07395271
Summary
This study aimed to find the best dose of a medication called dexmedetomidine when added to standard spinal anesthesia for planned cesarean sections. Researchers compared a 5 microgram dose to a 10 microgram dose in 60 healthy pregnant women to see which provided longer-lasting pain relief and muscle numbness while keeping the mother's blood pressure and heart rate stable. The goal was to improve recovery by extending pain relief after surgery.
