New drug shows promise for painful hand and foot pustules

NCT ID NCT03135548

First seen Nov 01, 2025

Summary

This study tested a drug called spesolimab in 59 adults with palmoplantar pustulosis, a painful skin condition causing pustules on hands and feet. Participants received low or high doses of the drug or a placebo for 12 weeks. The main goal was to see if the drug safely reduced pustules and skin symptoms. Results suggest spesolimab may help control the disease, but larger studies are needed.
