NCT ID NCT07256834
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether a steroid gel (betamethasone) or a numbing gel (lidocaine) works better to prevent sore throat after a breathing tube is placed during surgery. Sixty adults having planned surgery will receive one of the gels on the tube, and their throat pain will be checked 6 and 24 hours later. The goal is to find a simple way to reduce post-operative discomfort.
