Talking it out: new approach calms moms of preemies

Summary
This study tested a solution-focused approach to help mothers of premature babies manage anxiety about caring for their infants. Forty first-time mothers with preterm babies in the NICU took part; half received eight counseling sessions. Results showed that the approach lowered anxiety and improved problem-solving skills compared to standard care.
