Tapping technique tested to soothe Parents' nerves during baby hearing screening

NCT ID NCT07421063

First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a 15-minute Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) session—a guided acupoint tapping routine—can reduce anxiety in mothers waiting for their newborn's first hearing screening. 70 parents will be randomly assigned to either the tapping session or a standard waiting period. Anxiety levels are measured before and after using validated scales. The goal is to see if this brief, non-drug intervention can ease the acute stress that often comes with newborn screening.
