Summary
This study looks at how people with advanced cancer decide what should happen to their social media accounts after they pass away. Researchers at MD Anderson Cancer Center are surveying 117 patients to understand if they've talked to family or friends about managing accounts like Facebook or Instagram. The goal is to learn what patients need and reduce anxiety around this part of end-of-life planning.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors and families better support patients' wishes about their digital legacy, reducing stress around end-of-life decisions.
What could go wrong
This is a small, observational study at one cancer center, so findings may not apply to all patients. It only surveys opinions, not testing a treatment.
