Smart crutches could revolutionize broken leg recovery

Summary
This study tests whether personalized weight-bearing plans using smart crutch tips can speed up healing after surgery for a broken shinbone. Thirty adults aged 18 to 80 will use the smart crutches for up to 24 weeks and attend eight follow-up visits over 36 weeks. Researchers will compare standard rehab with personalized plans based on CT scans and computer modeling to see which leads to faster bone healing and less fear of movement.
