First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests if a family-based weight management program can delay the start of puberty in overweight girls aged 6.5 to 8. About 240 girls from low-income households will either join the program or receive usual care. Researchers will track puberty signs over 3 years to see if healthier habits help lower long-term health risks.
