Sleep your way to better health: new study links extra rest to lower diabetes risk
NCT ID NCT03398902
Summary
This study tested whether a personalized plan to help adults with prediabetes get more sleep could improve their blood sugar control and help prevent type 2 diabetes. Researchers worked with 150 adults who typically slept less than 6.5 hours per night, providing coaching to extend their sleep over 8 weeks. They used wearable monitors to track sleep and blood sugar levels to see if more sleep time led to healthier glucose readings.
