NCT ID NCT06127524

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests a handheld device that detects early signs of skin damage up to 10 days before bedsores appear. Nursing home staff will use the scanner during routine checks to decide when to start preventive care. The goal is to prevent painful pressure injuries, especially in residents with dark skin where early damage is harder to see. The study involves about 4,700 nursing home residents and compares results to the year before the device was used.
