Cheap training models may be just as good for rare emergency skills
NCT ID NCT06687395
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at whether doctors remember how to perform a rare emergency airway procedure (FONA) three to four months after training. 44 resident doctors were trained on either a commercial model or a simple, low-cost homemade model. The goal was to see if the cheaper model worked just as well for long-term skill retention.
